Good morning to the panel. If you have been watching any of the committee’s deliberations, you will know that we are very interested in the scrutiny and accountability of public bodies.

There are different types of public bodies—some are accountable to the Parliament, and some are accountable to the Government—but across them all we are interested in what measures the Scottish Government has in place to scrutinise their performance and measure their effective governance.

The committee has taken quite a bit of evidence that would seem to suggest that Parliament capacity is an issue with regard to scrutiny and accountability for Parliament bodies, and perhaps other bodies as well. Does the Government have a view on that?
