It is just a brief question. If you were considering granting further land into crofting, which of the three bits of crofting legislation would you bring it under? One thing that needs to be done to make crofting work is a reform of crofting legislation. Are you not in danger, by increasing crofting per se, of further muddying the water as far as the legislation is concerned?

Just to clarify, in order to try to speed things up, I am going to change the way that I said I was going to do the voting. The priority of the committee is to ensure that everyone watching the session is aware of how people have voted in each situation. One member—Kevin Stewart—is online. When he votes, I will say how he has voted, so that people can see that. I hope that that will speed things up, rather than doing a roll call.
The question is, that amendment 389 be agreed to. Are we agreed?
Members: No.

Thank you. We almost got involved in politics there for a moment—in fact, maybe we did.
Bob Doris will ask the next question.

We will now hear from our second panel of witnesses on hydrogen aspects of the project willow study, with a focus on Grangemouth and its potential role in relation to blue hydrogen and the use of carbon capture and storage technology to decarbonise the industry.
I welcome to the meeting Professor Stuart Haszeldine, who is professor of carbon capture and storage in the University of Edinburgh’s school of geosciences—Stuart, thank you for submitting written evidence to us—Nic Braley, who is general manager of the Acorn project; Professor Hannah Chalmers, who is personal chair of sustainable energy systems in the institute for energy systems, which is part of the University of Edinburgh’s school of engineering; and Professor Mercedes Maroto-Valer, who is director of the Industrial Decarbonisation Research and Innovation Centre at Heriot-Watt University. Those are some of the longest descriptions that I have had to read out.
There are four of you on the panel. If you keep your answers short, each of you will get in. If your answers are too long, you will exclude your fellow panel members. Please bear that in mind. The first question is from Sarah Boyack.

You are all very polite, which I love. Mercedes, if you comment first, I will then bring in Hannah.

This might be a daft laddie question that I will regret later but, if we are generating power offshore on floating wind farms, is there any reason why we could not create the hydrogen offshore straight from the wind farms and then transmit it by pipeline to an offshore storage facility, which could be close by, or bring it on shore?
