One of the other things that you mentioned was the impact of a reduction in use of body-worn cameras. Compared with what you do now, what impact would it have if you were to stop allowing police officers to wear those cameras?

John Thomson touched on the service’s inability to borrow, but, on the issue of the capital backlog, do you have the ability to lease premises instead of having to purchase them outright? If you did, that expense would be shown as revenue rather than capital on your balance sheet.

I have one question, which I always ask, and it is to do with the membership. It is an observation more than anything else. It is very welcome that it is an all-female membership, but, going forward, are you doing anything to try to attract male MSPs to the CPG?

I echo what everyone else has said. I know how passionate Emma Harper is about our Scots language. It is very welcome that we keep that going in Parliament, from a cultural and a Scots point of view. When the paper came to us, I welcomed it. As Bob Doris said, there appears to be a gap in the Parliament, and the group has a big welcome. I wish them guid luck.

On page 13, there is reference to short-life working group one, which is considering solutions. I am keen to get an update on the completion of that work.

Based on the evidence on the challenges that we heard about when we visited Maryhill, it might be worth writing to the Wise Group to seek its views. The letter seems to state that everything is going quite smoothly with regard to release, although there is a comment about Friday releases and how those can be a challenge. It might be good to get a second opinion from the Wise Group on that.

Jamie Greene has touched on the cost implications of taking that forward, but the other question is the issue of charges for transcripts. How costly will those be for victims? There is an issue of accessibility because, if they are too expensive, in effect, that is another barrier to justice.
