Good morning, and welcome to the sixth meeting in 2014 of the European and External Relations Committee. I make the usual request that people switch off mobile phones, as they interfere with broadcasting. I welcome again Dr Dan Kenealy, who is the committee’s adviser for our inquiry. We have received apologies from Hanzala Malik, and in his place today is Neil Bibby—welcome back to the committee, Mr Bibby.
Alex Rowley MSP has just joined the committee and we welcome him here for the first time. You are arriving in the middle of an inquiry, but we wish you the best and I hope that we can give you any help and support that you need.
