Scottish Parliament Public Petitions Committee Tuesday 24 April 2001 (Morning)

[The Convener opened the meeting at 10:03]

The Convener (Mr John McAllion):

I welcome everyone to the sixth meeting this year of the Public Petitions Committee. I hope that everybody had a good Easter break, in Scotland. We have a busy agenda this morning, so I shall not make any further opening remarks.

I have not received any apologies from members of the committee. I note that Paul Martin, Cathie Craigie, David Mundell and Alasdair Morgan are with us this morning; they each have an interest in petitions that are before us.
