During dissolution, there are no MSPs and no parliamentary business can take place.

The second item on the agenda is choice of convener. The Parliament has agreed that only members of the Scottish Labour Party are eligible for nomination as convener of the committee and I am pleased to announce that Siobhan McMahon is the Scottish Labour Party’s nominee for the post.

Siobhan McMahon was chosen as convener.

I congratulate Siobhan McMahon on her appointment and hand the chair over to her for the remainder of the proceedings.
