Decision on Taking Business in Private

Good morning and welcome to the 22nd meeting in 2008 of the Local Government and Communities Committee. I remind everyone—as I usually do at this stage—to switch off their mobile phones and BlackBerrys.

Agenda item 1 is to consider whether to take in private agenda item 3, under which the committee will consider a paper from its budget adviser, Professor Ron McQuaid. We normally discuss issues papers with him in private.
