Decision on Taking Business in Private

The Convener (Karen Whitefield):

Good morning, everyone. I welcome members to the 13th meeting this year of the Education, Lifelong Learning and Culture Committee. I remind all members that mobile phones and BlackBerrys should be switched off. I also welcome Richard Baker, who joins us again as substitute for Kenneth Macintosh, who appears to have caught the winter vomiting bug and has, after coming in, gone away again.

Our first agenda item today is to make a decision on taking business in private. Members are asked to agree to take in private item 2, which is consideration of our draft report on our stage 2 consideration of the budget process 2008-09. The committee normally takes such items in private. Members are also asked whether they agree to take in private any further consideration of that report. Are we agreed?

Members indicated agreement.

I close the public part of the meeting.

Meeting continued in private until 12:53.
