Sexual Offences Act 2003 (Remedial) (Scotland) Order 2011 (SSI 2011/45)

The committee agreed that no points arose on the order.

Do members agree to draw to the attention of the lead committee, for its interest, as a matter of policy, the inserted section 88H and the power to amend the maximum notification period, which can be used to extend the period as well as to shorten it? The same provision appeared in the recent Sexual Offences Act 2003 (Remedial) (Scotland) Order 2010 (SSI 2010/370), when it was notified to the lead committee with respect to whether it wished to explore the need for the power. Do members agree to do that?
