Burrell Collection (Lending and Borrowing) (Scotland) Bill: Consideration Stage

The Convener (Joan McAlpine)

Good morning and welcome to the sixth and final meeting of the Burrell Collection (Lending and Borrowing) (Scotland) Bill Committee. I remind committee members and members of the public to turn off any mobile devices as they interfere with the sound system.

The only item on our agenda is the consideration stage of the Burrell Collection (Lending and Borrowing) (Scotland) Bill. We have no amendments to deal with, but the standing orders oblige us to consider each section of the bill and the long title and agree to each formally. We have received no apologies and no additional MSPs are attending.

Sections 1 to 5 agreed to.

Long title agreed to.

The Convener

That ends the consideration stage of the bill. If only it were as simple as that all the time.

I thank my colleagues on the committee. I also thank Joanna Hardy and Kate McGillivray—unfortunately Kate is not here today—for all the help that they have given us and I thank the promoter and other witnesses for their contributions.

The next stage of the bill is the final stage, when the whole Parliament will vote on whether to pass the bill. We expect that stage to be some time in the new year. Any member may lodge an amendment at the final stage.

Meeting closed at 09:40.
