I open this meeting of the Transport and the Environment Committee.

We have received an apology from Tavish Scott.

I suggest that we consider in private item 1 on the agenda, in regard to the questions that we will ask and the strategy that we will pursue in this morning's questioning of witnesses on the subject of telecommunications development. Is that agreed?

Members indicated agreement.

In that case, I ask members of the public to vacate their seats. I expect that the private session will not last longer than 45 minutes.
