I ask the minister to make a statement that might prevent my having to vote against the motion.
I can clarify that the item was postponed at the request of the convener of the Justice 1 Committee, who wanted the time to be used for a debate on the Scottish Commissioner for Human Rights Bill. Members will appreciate that I will always try to give the maximum amount of time possible to conveners and others who make representations to me. I hope that Parliament will agree that the correct decision was made.
I withdraw my opposition to the motion.
Motion agreed to.
