One Minute’s Silence

The Presiding Officer (Ken Macintosh)

Before we move to the first item of business, colleagues will be aware that Friday 8 May marks the 75th anniversary of VE—victory in Europe—day, which saw the end of fighting in Europe in the second world war. Normally, most colleagues would have attended services or commemorations in person on Friday, but in the absence of such events in the face of the current restrictions, I invite colleagues to join me in observing one minute’s silence to remember all those who suffered, fought and died in that horrific conflict.
