Interests
My commiserations, fellow members; we are all in the same boat. I welcome everyone to the first meeting of the Airdrie-Bathgate Railway and Linked Improvements Bill Committee. By dint of age, I will convene the meeting at the outset. No apologies have been received.
Under our first agenda item, I ask all committee members to make a declaration of interests and declaration of impartiality. The declaration of interests is a statutory requirement; I advise members that they should err on the side of caution by declaring any interest that would prejudice, or give the appearance of prejudicing, their ability to participate in a disinterested manner in the proceedings of the committee.
Standing orders require members to declare that they will act impartially in their capacity as members of the committee and that they will base their decisions solely on the evidence and information that is provided to us. It would make sense for members to make that declaration at the same time as they make any declaration of interests.
I have no interests to declare or other declaration to make.
I have no relevant interests to declare.
I have no relevant interests to declare.
I have no relevant interests to declare.
Neither have I.
