Good afternoon, colleagues. I welcome everyone to the 11th meeting in 2002 of the European Committee. I have received apologies from Nora Radcliffe, who is in Brighton at a party conference. Dennis Canavan expects to be here, but he will be a bit late because he has lodged amendments to a bill, which are being discussed at another parliamentary committee.
