Official Report 248KB pdf
The third agenda item concerns the appointment of an adviser for our consideration of the proposed children's hearings (Scotland) bill. Members will recall that, as part of its work programme discussion last week, the committee considered the possibility of appointing an adviser to assist it with its likely scrutiny of the proposed bill early next year. The clerks have drafted a paper that asks the committee to agree formally whether it wishes to seek to appoint an adviser. The paper also contains a draft remit and person specification for the role, which the committee is also asked to agree.
Members indicated agreement.
That brings the public part of our meeting to a conclusion. The committee will move into private session.
Meeting continued in private until 13:50.
