Interests

Good morning and welcome to the fourth meeting in 2009 of the Equal Opportunities Committee. I remind all those present, including members, that mobile phones and BlackBerrys should be switched off completely, as they interfere with the sound system even when they are switched to silent. We have received apologies from Elaine Smith.

It is my pleasure formally to welcome Willie Coffey to the Equal Opportunities Committee. He has replaced Sandra White, who was a member of the committee for almost five years. I am sure that members will join me in paying tribute to all the hard work that Sandra did when she served on the committee over that period. I invite Willie Coffey to declare any interests.

Thanks for your kind welcome, convener. I have two interests to declare. I currently serve as an elected member of East Ayrshire Council and I own a small number of shares in Kilmarnock Football Club. Both of those interests are fully detailed in the register of members' interests.
