Under the next agenda item, we will again consider supplementary legislative consent memorandum LCM-S7M-3, which relates to the Armed Forces Bill. The supplementary LCM relates to amendment 30 to the bill, which was tabled on 22 May 2026 and agreed to in the House of Commons on 2 June, concerning the enforcement of service restraining orders in cases where an individual leaves the armed forces and enters the civilian justice system. The committee considered the supplementary LCM at its meeting on 2 September and agreed to write to the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and the Minister for Parliamentary Business and Veterans. We have since received a helpful response to that correspondence, which has been published on the committee’s website. Do members have any comments on the supplementary LCM?
I would like to understand further the cross-border enforcement framework—for example, in a case where a victim lives in England and the person who is the subject of the non-harassment order lives in Scotland. I would like clarification of that process.
