Road Works (Inspection Fees) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2012 (SSI 2012/250)

Members have paper 5 and the accompanying instrument. No motion to annul has been received in relation to the regulations. Does anyone have any comments?

Alex Johnstone

I did not see it in the accompanying notes, but I assume that the regulations are being amended to take account of a rise in inflation. I notice that footnote (c) in paragraph 2 of the regulations indicates that there have been regular annual rises, so I presume that they were fee increases to take care of inflation.

I think so.

In that case, a £1 rise on £32 is inflation rounded up, and I have no problem with that.

Does the committee agree that it does not wish to make any recommendations on the regulations?

Members indicated agreement.
