Welcome to the first meeting in 2012 of the Rural Affairs, Climate Change and Environment Committee. Members and the public should turn off mobile phones as leaving them in flight mode or on silent affects the broadcasting system.

There are no apologies today and no additional members are attending the meeting.

Under item 1, I invite Claudia Beamish and Margaret McDougall to declare any relevant interests.

I am a member of the Campaign for Borders Rail.

I am still a councillor on North Ayrshire Council.

I welcome you both to the committee.
