I thank Sandra White for so ably chairing the first part of the meeting. I am also grateful for my colleagues’ support of my nomination as chair.
Under agenda item three we will choose a deputy convener. The Parliament has agreed that only members of the Scottish National Party are eligible for nomination as deputy convener of the committee and I understand that Sandra White is the SNP’s nominee for the position.
Sandra White was chosen as deputy convener.
I congratulate Sandra White on her appointment. I look forward to working with her and other committee members.
