Decision on Taking Business in Private

The Convener (Karen Whitefield)

I open the 20th meeting in 2010 of the Education, Lifelong Learning and Culture Committee. I remind all who are present that mobile phones and BlackBerrys should be switched off for the duration of the meeting.

The first item on our agenda is to consider whether to take in private items 3, 4 and 5. Item 3 is consideration of the committee’s approach to stage 1 scrutiny of the Historic Environment (Amendment) (Scotland) Bill, item 4 is consideration of the committee’s approach to stage 1 scrutiny of the Autism (Scotland) Bill and item 5 is consideration of the committee’s draft report on the Scottish local newspaper industry. Are members content to take those items in private?

Members indicated agreement.
