Decision on Taking Business in Private

I welcome members to the 17th meeting in 2010 of the Public Audit Committee and remind them to switch off all electronic devices.

Before we move on, I want to put an issue on the record. Members will be aware that previously a committee report was leaked to the press. We find that our report on the progress on planning for the delivery of the Commonwealth games 2014 was also leaked to the press and some comments were attributed to sources close to the committee. I remind members that unauthorised disclosure of confidential committee material constitutes a breach of section 7.4.2 of the code of conduct and it undermines the committee’s work. It is disappointing that we have had to return to this matter and I hope that it will not occur again.
