Official Report 193KB pdf
Item 6 is the appointment of a budget adviser. I ask members to agree in principle to appoint a budget adviser to the committee, without going into detail today.
I certainly agree with that in principle. It would be useful if the Minister for Public Health or the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing said tomorrow what the intention is for the budget process and what its implications are for the committee's budget scrutiny role this year.
A list of possible advisers will be compiled for the committee to scrutinise. Committees' normal practice is to discuss such business in private so that individuals' details are not in the public domain. It will be up to the committee to select the adviser. Are members content with that?
That ends the public business.
Meeting continued in private until 11:54.
