What is it?

There are allegations in the media today that this year’s higher maths exam paper was “dumbed down”, of “poor-quality”, “uneven” and without “flow”.

Sorry, but the issue is not on the agenda, so—

Can I raise it briefly?

It is not on the agenda. The committee is not a platform for raising issues that are raised in the media. If you wish to put the issue in the work programme, we will be happy to discuss that.

That is exactly what I want.

There is no work programme item on the agenda, so we will move on. We will discuss the matter at the appropriate point.

We previously agreed to take the next item in private, so we come to the end of the public part of the meeting. This is the committee’s final meeting before the summer recess. I welcome the fact that we are reaching the end of a long and complex series of meetings on some difficult issues, and thank the committee for their efforts over the past year.
