Act of Sederunt (Fees of Sheriff Officers) (No 2) 2011 (SSI 2011/432)
Under item 2, we have one negative instrument to consider. Members will have seen from paper 1 that we originally considered the act of sederunt at our meeting last week. However, because of an administrative error earlier in the parliamentary process, it was assigned to us as an instrument that was not subject to parliamentary procedure rather than a negative instrument. It has therefore returned to the committee for consideration under the correct procedure.
When the committee agreed to note the act of sederunt last week, it also agreed to write to the Lord President to seek further information on how the figure of 3.8 per cent for uprating sheriff officers’ fees was reached. The Lord President’s response has been forwarded to members.
As members have no comments, are we content to make no recommendation on the instrument?
