Decision on Taking Business in Private

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the seventh meeting of the Standards, Procedures and Public Appointments Committee in 2012. I ask members and others to turn off their mobile phones and BlackBerrys, please.

We have received apologies from our deputy convener, Helen Eadie, who is unable to be with us.

Agenda item 1 is to decide whether to take in private items 4, 5 and 6. Under agenda item 4, the committee will consider possible standing order rule changes following the passing of the Scotland Act 2012, and under agenda item 5, it will consider how section 7 of the “Code of Conduct for Members of the Scottish Parliament” should be amended. Under agenda item 6, the committee will decide the next steps in its review of cross-party groups. Do members agree to take those items in private?
