Good morning and welcome to the 16th meeting of the Education and Culture Committee in 2011. Some members are running a little late this morning, but I hope that they will join us soon. I remind members to switch off all phones and other electronic devices to ensure that they do not interfere with the sound system.

The first item on this morning’s agenda is consideration of two statutory instruments that are subject to negative procedure. No motions to annul have been lodged in respect of either instrument, and the Subordinate Legislation Committee has determined that it does not wish to draw Parliament’s attention to either instrument.

Does the committee agree to make no recommendations on the instruments to Parliament?

Members indicated agreement.
