Interests of Members of the Scottish Parliament Bill

The Convener:

Agenda item 6 is consideration of our approach to scrutiny of the financial memorandum to the Interests of Members of the Scottish Parliament Bill. Given the minimal amount of money that is involved, I propose that we seek comments from the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body about the accuracy of the figures and that we produce a short report. As the paper says, we would not usually produce a report for a bill with minimal financial implications, but because the bill is a committee bill we are obliged under standing orders to do so.

Do members agree to the proposal and agree that we should report by correspondence, given the short timescale and the fact that there will be a three-week period during which we are unable to have a committee meeting?

Members indicated agreement.

Meeting continued in private until 11:11.
