Official Report 122KB pdf
Following our meeting on 10 June, we wrote to the Scottish Government about two statutory instruments. Members have seen the responses.
Licensing of Animal Dealers
(Young Cats and Dogs) (Scotland) Regulations 2008 (Draft)
In relation to our questions (a) and (b), are we content to draw the regulations to the attention of the lead committee and Parliament on the grounds set out in the summary of recommendations?
Also on question (a), are we content to report to the lead committee for further consideration the "reasonable excuse" defence for the offence of making false statements?
Are we satisfied with the Government's explanation in relation to our question (c) and, if so, are we content to draw the regulations to the attention of the lead committee and Parliament on that basis? Are we also content to draw the effect of regulation 15(3) to the attention of the lead committee for further consideration?
In relation to our question (d), are we content to draw the regulations to the attention of the lead committee and Parliament on the grounds set out in the summary of recommendations?
Diseases of Animals
(Approved Disinfectants) (Scotland) Order 2008 (SSI 2008/219)
Are we satisfied with the explanation provided by the Scottish Government in relation to article 13(2) and, if so, are we content to draw the order to the attention of the lead committee and Parliament on that basis?
