Civil Legal Aid (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2012 (SSI 2012/64)
Good morning. I welcome everyone back and to the Justice Committee’s 13th meeting in 2012. I ask everyone to switch off completely mobile phones and other electronic devices, as they interfere with the broadcasting system even when they are switched to silent. I have no apologies for absence.
Agenda item 1 is consideration of a negative instrument that we first considered at our previous meeting. The Subordinate Legislation Committee had raised concerns, and we agreed to write to ask the Scottish Government whether it intends to withdraw the regulations. Members will note that the Cabinet Secretary for Justice has provided a response, which is annex A of paper 1. Do members have any comments on the response?
