Items in Private

The Convener (Bristow Muldoon):

I welcome everyone to today's meeting. Members are probably aware from the committee papers that I will propose that we take several agenda items in private, so the public session of the meeting might be relatively short. We have had apologies from Andrew Welsh and Bruce McFee, and Kenny MacAskill has said that he is likely to attend as a substitute for one SNP member.

Agenda item 2 is consideration of our work programme, which contains proposals that are not yet in the public domain. Normally, committees consider their work programmes in private. Once we have agreed the work programme, it will be a publicly available document. Do we agree to take that item in private?

Members indicated agreement.

The Convener:

Agenda item 3 is consideration of a timetable for the budget process for 2004-05 and potential witnesses. Before we consider a bill, we normally discuss in private papers on how we will analyse it. Do we agree to take that item in private?

Members indicated agreement.

Agenda item 4 is consideration of potential advisers on the budget. We normally discuss in private individuals who might be employed as advisers. Do we agree to take that item in private?

Members indicated agreement.

Meeting continued in private until 15:25.
