I welcome everyone to the first meeting of the Public Petitions Committee in 2002. I hope that everyone had a restful break over Christmas and new year and that you have come back refreshed and ready for the fight. We have received apologies from Helen Eadie, who will not be at the next couple of meetings because she has had to go into hospital for a minor operation. We wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to her return.
