Decisions on Taking Business in Private

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the ninth meeting of the Standards, Procedures and Public Appointments Committee in 2012. I remind members to turn off their mobile phones and BlackBerrys.

Agenda item 1 is to decide whether to take in private items 4 and 5. Item 4 is consideration of standing orders rule changes arising from the Scotland Act 2012, and item 5 is consideration of the committee’s work programme. Do members agree to take those items in private?

Members indicated agreement.

Item 2 is to decide whether to take in private at future meetings consideration of draft changes to section 7 of the “Code of Conduct of Members of the Scottish Parliament”, a review of the evidence heard in our inquiry into cross-party groups, and consideration of guidance on motions and parliamentary questions. Do members agree to take those items in private at future meetings?
