Item in Private
Are members agreeable to item 2 being taken in private? The item covers consideration of candidates for the post of adviser for the committee's inquiry into alternatives to custody. As the discussion will reveal information about the individuals being considered for the post, I suggest to the committee that it would be inappropriate to hold that discussion in public.
Members indicated agreement.
That is confirmed.
Members agreed at the previous meeting to take item 3 today in private. That item is consideration of information received by the committee since the publication of its report into legal aid. It is appropriate that that discussion takes place in private to allow us to decide how we wish to respond to that information without pre-empting the debate that is to take place tomorrow afternoon.
That means that the rest of today's agenda is in private. There are no members of the public here to ask to leave the room.
Meeting continued in private until 14:32.
