Subordinate Legislation

National Health Service (Pharmaceutical Services) (Scotland) Regulations 2009<br />(SSI 2009/183)

The Convener:

We now consider a negative Scottish statutory instrument. The purpose of the regulations is to make provision for serial prescriptions, which will form the basis of the new chronic medication service. The regulations consolidate the National Health Service (Pharmaceutical Services) (Scotland) Regulations 1995 (SI 1995/414) and regulate the terms according to which pharmaceutical services are provided under the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978.

No comments have been received from members, and no motion to annul has been lodged. The Subordinate Legislation Committee

"reports to the lead committee and the Parliament that this instrument contains a number of drafting errors … but notes and welcomes the Scottish Government's commitment to bring forward a corrective instrument to address these errors prior to these regulations coming into force."

Are we agreed that the committee does not wish to make any recommendations on the regulations?

Members indicated agreement.

We now move on to item 5, on consideration of options for our work programme, which will be brief. As agreed, this item will be taken in private, and I therefore close the public part of the meeting.

Meeting continued in private until 12:39.
