Decision on Taking Business in Private
The Convener (Gil Paterson)
We should get started. Welcome everyone, and thank you for your attendance. We have received no apologies.
I want to put a correction on the public record. When the Commissioner for Public Appointments in Scotland, Karen Carlton, gave evidence to the committee on 19 January, we discussed the involvement of women at board level. Comments that the commissioner made were taken up by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, which disagreed with what she said. There has been dialogue and the commissioner has accepted that she made an error. I wanted to inform the committee and the public of that.
Item 1 is a decision on whether to take in private items 2 and 3, which involve consideration of recommendations from the Review of SPCB Supported Bodies Committee and the Commission on Scottish Devolution. This will be the first time that the committee has considered its approach to either issue, so I propose that we take the items in private. Are members happy to do that?
Members indicated agreement.
We have had a short public meeting, following our meeting with the Scottish Parliamentary Standards Commissioner, which I enjoyed.
