Emergency Business

The next item concerns a report on the process for dealing with emergency business. We have already had a couple of discussions on that process, and I am keen to ensure that we do not get bogged down in having to react all the time. However, paper HC/99/7/22 allows me some discretion in deciding what should be on our agenda. It also states:

"Standing Orders contain no references to the conduct of emergency business in committees."

Emergency business is handled on the floor of the Parliament. I hope that that is acceptable. Does anyone wish to comment? Shall we simply note the contents of that paper?
