Decision on Taking Business in Private

The Convener (Christine Grahame)

Good morning and welcome to the Justice Committee’s 18th meeting in 2013. I ask everyone to completely switch off mobile phones and other electronic devices as they interfere with the broadcasting system even when switched to silent. Apologies have been received from David McLetchie and Jenny Marra, and John Lamont and Margaret McDougall are attending as substitutes. I also welcome to the committee Lewis Macdonald and Chic Brodie; others might well join us during the course of the evidence taking. [Interruption.] I beg your pardon—I meant Iain Gray, not Lewis Macdonald. That was a bad start.

Item 1 is a decision on taking business in private. Does the committee agree to take in private item 6, which is further consideration of our approach to stage 1 scrutiny of the Tribunals (Scotland) Bill? It is proposed that we take the item in private, as we will be discussing possible witnesses.

Members indicated agreement.
