[The Convener opened the meeting in private at 14:03]

Meeting continued in public.

The Convener (Ms Margaret Curran):

I begin by welcoming everyone to the committee meeting. I speak on behalf of the entire committee when I say that we are pleased to be in Stirling. We think that the Parliament exists outside the wee, small part of Edinburgh where we usually meet, so we offer our warm thanks to Stirling Council and to everyone who has attended.

The first thing I have to do is technical. Do members agree that item 4 on the agenda, which is our future work programme, be held in private?

Members indicated agreement.
