I call the meeting to order and welcome the press and public to this meeting of the Transport and the Environment Committee. Unfortunately, the meeting—or certainly the public part of it—will be relatively short, which is quite unusual for us.

I have had apologies from Nora Radcliffe, who is participating in a visit to Brussels by the European Committee. I have also been advised by Des McNulty that he will be unable to attend—I think that he has business to do with the Finance Committee this morning.
