Good morning and welcome to the 25th meeting of the Local Government and Communities Committee in 2008. I remind everyone to switch off their mobile phones and BlackBerrys.

Under agenda item 1, we welcome Mary Mulligan MSP to the committee and invite her to declare any relevant interests.

Thank you, convener. I do not have any relevant interests to declare at this time. However, I am delighted to be a new member of the Local Government and Communities Committee.
