Pre and Post-council Scrutiny

The Deputy Convener:

Agenda item 7 is our regular scrutiny of the agendas and reports of meetings of the European Council. I note that a number of papers are late this time. Do members have any comments?

Mr Gallie usually likes to jump in at this point and I often jump in as well. However, as I am in the chair, I will leave it to other members to do that.

Phil Gallie:

I will not delay the committee on this occasion. I have already raised issues with the minister about some of the justice and home affairs matters on which I feel strongly. Some of those are mentioned in the papers that we have been given. However, I would prefer for the committee just to move on at this point.

We are all aware of the heavy burden that lies ahead of us with the two reports that we need to consider in private, so I am happy with that too, Mr Gallie. Are we all happy with that?

Members indicated agreement.
