Deregulation Bill

The Convener

Item 2 is a legislative consent memorandum lodged by the Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Employment and Sustainable Growth on the United Kingdom Parliament Deregulation Bill. Members have had circulated to them a paper explaining the salient points in relation to the Farriers (Registration) Act 1975, and the repeal of the Farm and Garden Chemicals Act 1967 and the Agricultural Produce (Grading and Marking) Acts 1928 and 1931, in so far as they fall within the legislative competence of the Scottish Parliament.

As members do not have any issues to raise, are we content that we report to Parliament that we agree to the LCM and that we approve the draft motion that is contained in the LCM?

Members indicated agreement.

Do members also agree to delegate to the convener and clerk the production of a short factual report detailing the committee’s considerations and arranging for its publication?

Members indicated agreement.

With that, we move into private session.

10:04 Meeting continued in private until 10:26.
