The Convener:

Item 2 is consideration of subordinate legislation. No member has sought to raise any issues in relation to any of the four statutory instruments that we are considering today. The Subordinate Legislation Committee identified a problem with vires in paragraph 6(a)(i) of schedule 1 to the Education Maintenance Allowances (Scotland) Regulations 2004 (SSI 2004/273), where the reference to the Scottish ministers should have been a reference to the Secretary of State for the Home Department, because the original enactment insists on that. The Executive has indicated that it will lay an amending order in due course.

Given that no member has raised any issues, I suspect that the committee has no comment to make on the instruments.

Members indicated agreement.

That concludes the public session.

Meeting continued in private until 15:25.
