Background
The Public Audit Committee looks at reports published by the Auditor General for Scotland to examine whether public money is being spent efficiently and effectively.
On the 10 September 2026, the Auditor General for Scotland published the report Scotland’s colleges 2026.
The report says “The Scottish Government is due to publish, by the end of 2026, key findings from the workstream and recommendations to ministers for transforming the college sector. From this we expect to see actions to fully address recommendations from our Scotland’s colleges 2025 report.”
