SCOTTISH PARLIAMENT SCRUTINY OF THE DRAFT NATIONAL PLANNING FRAMEWORK 4 -15 November 2021

Letter from the Convener of the Economy, Energy and Fair Work Committee to the Convener on NPF4– 15 November 2021

Dear Ariane

SCOTTISH PARLIAMENT SCRUTINY OF THE DRAFT NATIONAL PLANNING FRAMEWORK 4

Thank you for your letter of 3 November regarding the draft National Planning Framework 4 (NPF4) which I note was published last week. Your letter sought a response by 11 November however I am afraid it has not been possible for the Committee to consider your letter in that timescale. I would be grateful if you would accept this letter as an acknowledgement for now.

I understand there are 120 days for the Parliament to make any representations to the Scottish Government on the draft and in his statement last week, the Minister for Public Finance, Planning and Community Wealth stated that the Scottish Government is “kickstarting an extensive programme of engagement and public consultation”.

I expect my Committee to consider its work programme again in the next couple of weeks and I will ensure your letter is included in that discussion. I will of course write to you again to advise the decision of this Committee.

Kind regards
Claire Baker MSP
Convener
