I am pleased that the issue of funding for people on low incomes is being addressed.

The one issue that I still believe needs to be addressed is one that concerns many people like myself; this is that the legislation is unclear as to what will happen to people who are unable, or fail, to comply with the legal requirements.

Not only is it unclear as to whether non compliance will result in possible civil or criminal proceedings, but will it also mean that people’s home insurance will become suddenly null and void as from 1st February 2022 if they have been unable to get a contractor to install the necessary equipment?

Some additional clarity on the above would be appreciated.
