PE1873/E: Provide hypnotherapy for the treatment of mental health, psychosomatic disorders and chronic pain
As a small island Board, we aim to provide as broad a service offering as possible, however this doesn't currently include hypnotherapy either for chronic pain or mental health, as there is currently limited clinical indication for its routine use. We are however aware that it can be effective for some phobias and addictions and understand the benefit of complementary medicine approaches where they are helpful to individuals.
Should the Scottish Government or Integration Joint Boards feel that the evidence base in support of this approach is robust then we would explore how we could go about delivering this in our remote setting.
