Health and Sport Committee
The Committee reports to the Parliament as follows—
The Public Appointments and Public Bodies etc. (Scotland) Act 2003 (Amendment of Specified Authorities) Order 2018 [draft] was laid before the Parliament on 12 June 2018 and referred to the Health and Sport Committee.
The Public Appointments and Public Bodies etc. (Scotland) Act 2003 (Amendment of Specified Authorities) Order 2018 [draft] is subject to the affirmative procedure (Rule 10.6). It is for the Health and Sport Committee to recommend to Parliament whether the Regulations should be approved.
This order is made in exercise of the powers conferred by section 3(42)(a) of the Public Appointments and Public Bodies etc. (Scotland) Act 2003 and all other powers enabling them to do so.
This Order amends schedule 2 of the Public Appointments and Public Bodies etc. (Scotland) Act 2003 which lists the specified authorities that are subject to section 2 of that Act so must comply with the code of practice published by the Commissioner for Ethical Standards in Public Life in Scotland.
The purpose of this instrument is to remove NHS Health Scotland and the Scottish Association Scottish Advisory Committee on Distinction Awards (SACDA) from the remit of the Commissioner for Ethical Standards in Public Life in Scotland.
The Delegated Powers and Law Reform Committee considered this instrument at its meeting on 19 June 2018 and agreed that it did not need to draw it to the attention on the Parliament on any grounds within its remit.
